Record what your BJJ tournament division list shows
One name shows what the list said when you checked. It does not tell you the final bracket or your choices. Save the event name and link. Note your age, weight, belt or skill group, and the time you checked.
Find your BJJ tournament's one-person rule
For an IBJJF tournament, check two dates
Open your IBJJF event page. Read Important Info → Athlete Alone in Division and Relevant Dates. A change to your entry has an Athlete Correction Deadline. A request for a one-person bracket goes by Registration Checkday. These are two steps. IBJJF does not take new correction requests on Checkday. If you are still alone and want one of the event's listed choices, ask from the email on your IBJJF account. Use your event's Checkday due time. Check who may ask, too. IBJJF Championship Help
The 2026 adult Pan No-Gi page lists its own choices. It asks for an email from the athlete's IBJJF account by its Checkday due time. The 2026 Pan Kids No-Gi page has a child rule. For an allowed age move at that event, the parent or legal guardian on the child's IBJJF account must ask. Use your own event's dates and choices.
For the 2026 NAGA Richmond tournament, check the posted bracket
The 2026 Richmond page says to see the bracketing official at the event if you are alone in a posted bracket. If your name is missing, that is a new question. The page has a separate step for a youth who weighed in Friday but has no bracket. Ask NAGA about a missing entry. Do not treat it as a one-person bracket. NAGA's FAQ points to the event and Smoothcomp for brackets. The Richmond page has the steps for this event.
If your child is in the 2026 NAGA Richmond tournament
Read your child's note in Smoothcomp. The Richmond page says NAGA may move a child even if the sign-up answer to that move was “no.” It says NAGA will add a note to the child's entry. Later, the page says a youth moved out of their division will be told and asked to approve the move at check-in. If you see a move, ask NAGA how both steps apply to your child and the note.
