Beginner Jiu-Jitsu Near Reston
Start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Phantom Jiu Jitsu Academy in Herndon. If you live in Reston and haven't trained before, our Fundamentals program is designed for a day-one student.
What you'll learn in Fundamentals
The program covers offense and defense from fundamental positions, including the arm lock from closed guard. You'll practice through live positional sparring and learn the rules of the sport. Gi Fundamentals also covers basics such as tying your belt.
Gi and No-Gi classes for beginners
Fundamentals runs from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, with Gi classes on Monday and Wednesday and No-Gi classes on Tuesday and Thursday. View the current Fundamentals schedule to find a class that fits your week.
